Two films on the Orioles of the early 1960s. The first, a 58-minute B &W TV show, is titled "Paul Richards, Big League Manager." The first half of this behind-the-scenes look at the '61 Birds covers the rigors of spring training and the practicing of fundamentals. The second half shows a spring game against the Pirates with a miked Richards offering his comments and insight on the game. The second film, 27 minutes long and narrated by Chuck Thompson, contains the oldest existing color footage of Brooks Robinson and Boog Powell. It includes 1962 spring training shots from Miami Stadium as well as regular-season shots of the Orioles and other AL stars in action. DVD
