In the 1975 contest, Steve Garvey and Jimmy Wynn hit back-to-back homers in the second inning. Carl Yastrzemski ties the score with a three-run homer in the sixth off Tom Seaver. The NL scores three times in the top of the ninth on a two-run single by Bill Madlock and a sacrifice fly by Pete Rose to secure the 6-3 win.
In the 1976 game, the National League celebrates the nation’s bicentennial with 10 hits and seven runs. George Foster and Cesar Cedeno homer for the NL squad. Five members of the “Big Red Machine” are elected to the starting lineup and manager Sparky Anderson adds two other Reds. The Cincinnati players provide the bulk of the offense with seven hits, four RBIs, and four runs scored in the 7-1 win. Fred Lynn homers for the AL’s only run. Both films narrated by Joe Garagiola.
