The 1969 Rose Bowl brought together the undefeated and top-ranked Ohio State Buckeyes and the second-ranked USC Trojans in a battle for the national championship. Ohio State’s team featured Jack Tatum, Rex Kern and John Brockington. Heisman Trophy winner O.J. Simpson ran for 171 yards and a touchdown but it wasn’t enough to bring USC the title as the Buckeyes prevailed 27-16.
